So. Tick, are you in? On a different note, the Saturday is progressing as follows..... We are looking at around 9-14 competitors. I will have this narrowed down and will post a time frame that hopefully suits all. We will start early ( i'm looking for a noon start- wind permitting) and from that point I will try to be accurate in a time for race and a n open session ...

F3F is slope racing on a 100 meter course, between two pylons. It's one plane at a time, so no potentially costly Man on Man conditions.

Pilots launch, have a 30 second window to climb out and then enter the course, and must complete 10 sequential legs between the pylons. Pilot with the fastest time wins the round. After a number of rounds, the fastest overall pilot is the winner.

F3F is very easy to do, but it is very hard to do well. It's a lot like golf.

There is a short video of an F3F run on the home page of ASRO's website: www.sloperacing.com.

HTH,

Nathan Woods

Darn Nathan I was thinking about giving it a go until you said it was alot like golf, of course if I had a plane sitting on the tee instead of a ball I could probably actually hit it

Whooooaa Thank goodness, I thought you meant that no matter how much you practice its almost impossible to get real good at it. unless you were doing it since you were a toddler like Tiger Woods.

Yes, any race-oriented ( not floater) type will do. Many times its the thumb-not the plane- that makes for fast times. Have an AMA card and be at Fermin before noon. Pilot meeting is at 11:55 racing starts at 12:00. When you get there find me and I'll have the sign upsheet. New guys fly for free, regular guys is a whopping $5.00. I hope that this spreads as it is fun and nerve wracking at the same time. If you can please post a reply to this with what plane and channel youll be using, that way I can find if there are any conflicts and can keep planes separated in their order. So far form the RC groups i have Tick and yourself. Any more want some ?
