What's the best T/R motor if you use lipo's

Well i did it! started using 1200ma 7.4 and a 340 11.1 lipo's and guess what? (right) burned up tail motor. using the stock 310 motor. so what is the best solution to this endless problem people are having? DD? D-F? or what. let's talk about this aside from going to seperates

Well, the 340's will not handle the main motor and as you found out will burn up te TR motor.

2s lipos will work very well DD on the TR. People use the 1200's so the heli still balances.

I run a EDP-50 DD tail motor with heat sink and it doesnt even get warm on a 2S Lipo and Acro280BB main motor. (Hummingbird Helicopter)

The EDP-50 is great and even better with a 3030 prop

There isn't much you can do except go seperates. A high frequency tail ESC will give back the tail motor life. With that aside, using a tail motor with carbon brushes is the only real thing you could do. I have also found that cutting my main blades reduced the strain on my tail motors, but that may also cause other issues with lift, etc.

DD will draw more current than the geared tail motor setup, so I recomend sticking with the gears for right now.
