Help! Need .exe for R/C Aerochopper!

Okay, as pathetic as it sounds I finally dragged out my old Pentium 66
to play this on as it won't work with Windows XP. The controller is
here and fine but I can't find the disk with the simulator on it. I
can't even find the company that made it (assuming out of business) so
I am hoping that someone somewhere out there happens to have the file
handy!

Thanks!

I know this program is an absolute antique but I already had it from
when it was new. As it is I found the diskette.. Yep, little pastic
1.44meg doohicky. Talk about antique's! <grin>

Thanks though.

Lord knows I need to get my Raptor back in the air before the dust
bunnies fly it to Hawaii.

Seems we are all going back onto Sims over the Winter months to polish up
Heli Flying (Myself Included), I have 2 new Scale Heli's being done ready
for next year and so am using the Sim to keep up my practice where weather
does not permit here. Still good fun and a lot warmer sat in the house
practising and cheaper too if you crash...!!! Even My 15 Yr Old Nephew is
having a go now but he will be relegated to the trainer next year, I am
flying the scale jobbies...!!! I have a Nice Hughes 500E and a Bell 230UT
getting ready for roll out...full scale jobs...me Nephew can fly the Shuttle
ZZX till he gets used to it.

Regards........Mark

WOW!!! I TOO have the controller but lost the old software! I'd LOVE to fire
it up for old times sake though so if you can send me the program, I'd be in
your debt!

Thanks,
Fred

Sounds like you have a few nice projects going. Any pictures of them?
I used to have a pair of GMP Cobra's back in the late 80's (anyone
even remember them?) and one had a Bell 222 body though I forget where
it came from. May have been a Kalt body or similar. I spent a long
time on that thing to get it set up the way I wanted, the retracts to
work just right, everything painted, even my lame attempt at rivet
details, etc...t hen never could bring myself to fly it with it on
there.. Just in case! hehe.

There were actually two reasons I brought mine out, one of which being
the aforementioned fun and practice, but the other was simple self
defence. Somewhere out there my GF happened to see a video of an RC
chopper doing 3D tricks and knew I had the one sitting on my cabinet.
She wanted to see how well she could do it. The simulator came in
REALLY handy when it took her a reasonable amount of time to figure
out which basic controls did what. Now I'm ready to show her what the
actual controller is that does the flying (that nice little 8 channel
digital Futaba from hell) and see what she thinks about it. Evil?
Maybe.. but I have no doubt she would be able to master it in short
order with my Raptor. It's great to have a GF that is into gadgets.
As it is I can't play combat with the Aerobirds without her figuring
new ways to shoot me out of the sky! Hmm...

I suspect you'll find those pretty hard to come by these days Freddie,
considering the cable came with a transmitter hard wired to one end of it.
Hard wired as in it wasn't plug-in at the Tx end, just the 'puter end.

Not so!!! My controller connected to my pc thru a rear plug on the back
center (where the training cable GOES ??? on a Futaba) of the Tx.

Thanks,
Freddy

Re: Help! Need .exe for R/C Aerochopper!

I never saw an Aerochopper that connected to a regular transmitter. The
transmitter I got with Aerochopper was purpose built for Aerochopper only.
Where the antenna would come out is where the cable came out. There was no
way to remove this cable from the transmitter and the other end of the cable
had a DB-25 connector on the end of it.

You must have got a REALLY late one then Freddie. I remember them coming
with a Futaba Conquest (Challenger over here) Tx with the lead coming out of
the antenna hole. I never saw one with a plug on both ends, or a plug on one
and a dongle on the other. Sorry though, I can't help with a wiring
schematic:-(
