Just for Fun 1996 Robin Infra Red

Never before seen.

Here is the Heli that succeded the Robin Free FLight Electric and preceded the Robin 280. A sfirst Slow FLY heli ever. Huge gear ratios driven by a single Hiline motor which was much too current hungry by todays standards. Now in the MIA Micro Heli Museum.

I just though I throw this for kicks. No tail motor! Mechanics proved too complex reason for going with Tail motor. Belt driven with pitch slider made from machined fiberglass pieces.

Hello Mario

Do you mean this? The helicopter looks really cool. By any chance are you going to post pictures of all the helicopter in the MIA museum?

Also, can you give me an idea of when to expect my parts?

Well, keep up the good work.

Carlo

One of my favorite proptotypes. Yellow paper canopy was formed on a wood plug and massaged to a shape by soaking and wiping it with a thin coat resin. This made the cabin rigid and extremly light weight. Clear shield was vac formed. Mostly Carbon a good platform where I tried several blade designs from basswood to balsa covered with paper to balsa covered with carbon cloth.

Carlo, this is for you. The heli is an early version of a Speed 400 I designed in early 90's. Fixed pitch main and collective on tail with carbon boom and torque rod to tail beveled gears. Used Futaba mini servos, there weren't micro servos of the size we know of those days. It used a modified RC Car ESC and RX to minimize weight.
