RFFS 100 Videos

I posted a few videos of the RFFS100 system at http://www.dynamicwebenterprises.com/Slowfly/videos/
if you can afford the high bandwith versions I would highly recommed them.

Sincerely,
Dan

Are the videos working for everyone? I got an emial saying that they got audio but no video. I tested it on my machine and it works for me but I have a high end computer which may be why it works. Any feedback would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Dan

I also fixed the last link so that it doesn't show the second clip. Gee you wouldn't know I do this for a living.

audio only is a codec propblem.
The user should check the options on thier viewer and get the appropriated codec.

Dan,

Liked the videos but can you get a few close-up shots of the planes? I am interested in how the actuators are attached, what amount of throw, are the surfaces aerodynamically balanced etc. When are you going to post more pictures and possibly a video of Dave's Pixel? Last but not least, when is my system going to be shipped?!

Keith

Kieth,

Try here about halfway down:
http://216.40.226.212/~admin2/forums...5&pagenumber=3

>I am interested in how the actuators are attached
The coils are attached at the hinge-line and the magnets are attached to the control surface.

>what amount of throw
Theoretically you could get 90 degrees but it depends on how stiff your hinges are. Tpyically you can get more the 45 degrees out of them.

>are the surfaces aerodynamically balanced
As you can see in the pictures in the thread above that indeed the Skeeters control surfaces are aerodynamically balanced but this is not required. This is a carryover from when the system was in its prototype stages.

>When are you going to post more pictures and possibly a video of Dave's Pixel
That's up to Dave. If he provides them we will post them. www.americanfunfly.com has more on Dave's Pixel. It looks like its going to be a write up.

>when is my system going to be shipped
When we have all the parts Soon keith, soon.

Dan,

Nice videos, thanks.

I'm looking forward to this new innovation in micro-flight.

Regards.

Dan,

Thanks for the reply, but I was referring to the planes in the videos. I see a lot of videos of planes in flight but would be real nice to see a close-up of them and a reference for size before they take off and turn into little blurs!

Kieth,
I realize what your saying. My dad and I always remark on how large and fast the 'Lil Skeeter looks in the videos. One of the ways we have started to let people gauge the size is by letting the tape roll until the planes taxi to the owners feet or the owner picks it up. Of course if they have big feet the former isn't a good measurement.

Sincerely,
Dan

P.S. I THINK my dad got all the parts today but don't quote me on that.
