Dumas Tuna Clipper Kit #1204

Does anyone here have any experience or has built this kit? It is selling for $54, so I though it would make a good first kit for me. Thanks. Dumasproducts.com under specials. Tuna Clipper Kit #1204

I can't believe no one here has heard of or built this kit. Can anyone give me any details on it? Good, bad, etc.? Thanks.

Dumas Tuna Clipper

I purchased this kit many years ago.
I was not impressed with the quality of the wood in the kit.
It was my first RC boat so I really did not know a good quality kit from a bad one.
I have since purchased several other Dumas kits and the quality of those has been much better than the Tuna Clipper.
The quality of the Clipper might be much better now.
In todays RC market $54 does not get very much.

I'm building it.

For building photos, check out my yahoo group dedicated to Dumas boats: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/dumasmodelboats/

It's definitely a kit from another era. But, for the price, a great way to get your feet wet before plunking down a bunch of cash for an expensive kit.

First Boat

The Tuna Clipper was a great experience for a first boat.
You can tell by the picture that it was my first.
The build taught me many things and at a very reasonable price.
