Update

Sorry guys, (for the ones that have been waiting for me) but right when I finally am able to do some kind of work, following my cracked rib episode, I turn around and meat grind the pinky on my left hand. Very surreal I must say losing a part of your limb/s. A quick trip to Kaiser emergency, some cutting and sewing up of whats left, more drugs ( I thank you very much) and I go back to trying to make some progress.

The boxes are kits to be shipped on Tue or Wed, and the stuff on the bench will be finished this week. Bear with me for not doing much typing, but I will take pics and post for progres reports for those you you waiting.

If you pm me, please ask yes or no questions, or better yet just call me. This post right now is kicking my butt, but I am able to work.

I feel for ya Ray! I lost use of my pinky and ring finger on my left had a couple of years ago, its a bummer. Five surgeries and it just seems to be getting worse. Then I met a guy who lost both arms from the elbow down and he says hes getting along great and is thankful he wasnt hurt worse. Kinda gives you some perspective!

WOW--- what a BUMMER!! Sorry you've had your share of mishaps lately. If it's any consolation-- the wind hasn't been any good for flying--- and at least it wasn't one of your thumbs!! Good luck with the recovery---speedy one so you can get back to the slopes and your normal life!!

Thought that the cracked ribs had taken the wind out of your sails for a lot longer than expected. Sorry to hear you got hurt, glad you're still up and kickin'. The planes can wait, just get yourself healed up. Hopefully you're right handed.

Is Tony still there? He builds some nice PSS stuff. I haven't seen him in ages!

Ray, very sorry to hear about your mishap.

Power planers are mean! I know from experience...

Sorry to hear about your accident. Thank God it was only a pinkey!

Funny how you don't really feel it at first... just a vibration....takes a few seconds to really sink in. Keep it elevated! Aleve (sp) really helps with the swelling, but I'm sure your docs have taken good care of you.

Good luck

Someone at my flying field oh back in 1992-93 got his thumb wacked off when reaching around the prop to tune his engine. My instructor also told me never to try and tune the carb from the front of the plane but rather to step behind it and tune it from there. Surprisingly tho they were able to reatach his thumb and he actually did fly again after that. Were you reaching for the needle valve when this happend?
