Hi, I plan to use a Wemotec Midi-Fan on a new plane. Does anyone know which one of Mega motor 22/20/3 or 22/30/2 work best for this EDF? Thank you.

Which work better depends on the cellcount you want and the power you want. Specify these two parameters and we can take it from there.

the 30/2 is a 16 cell or 5s motor
usually draws 50-52a @ 900-1000w

the 20/3 slightly hotter wind and smaller and lighter case (less heat dissapation) is good on 14 cells.........
around 45a and less watts
very good in a twin!

Also, if you are thrifty like me, a 16 cell controller is cheaper than a 30 cell one. :P

20/3 = 600 or less watts
30/2 = 900 or a little more

Depends on what you want watt wise...

Thank you all. I would use the 22/20/3 with single Midi-Fan and 16 cells Rc2400. Could one suggest some suitable plane types? I will be making it from scratch..

More like 12 cells. 600 watts MAX, adjust cell count not to exceed...

Yes I agree on the 22/30/2 if used with 16 cells...it's larger mass will deal with the heat better.

Im using 2 x 22/30/2's and Midis in My Wade Joos A-10.... so 16 cells is a good number? Now I know the cell count... I can look at cell types and the esc...

Its all coming together

I got my first box of bits for my A-10.... wings..retracts..vac form parts...bits and pieces. Now just awaiting the good bits... all the fibreglass parts...*giggles like a school girl*

The vac forms part.. bombs...all the bumpy bits on the fuse etc are top knotch! very nice indeed.

Dont worry about the "broken" photos.. the bits that broke are to be sanded off anyway...leaving the end bits on prolly saved the inner parts from postal damage anyway which is a good thing.

but everything is awesome and cant wait to start on it. I'll post more pix as I progress

more advertising for Wade... hes going to kill me when he gets more orders... ahaha

You don't have a plane picked out yet??????!!!

Usually things work out the other way, I've got a Midi-fan F-16 and what power combination works the best
