Hey Racers,

This months SCSR F3F on September 11 will be at White
Point. If it's anything like our previous F3Fs at White
Point, we should be in for some good close racing. The
racing will start at noon. Be there by 11:00 to get signed
up, and to help with the course setup. I'll be the CD for
this one. White Point has the potential for a lot of rounds.

This is the racing season folks, so I want to see a
good turn out. Coastal racing is the best racing.
Especially for F3F. Generally, if you get a better time
than you did in the last round, it's because you flew
a better course, not because you caught a thermal. The
best way to improve your skills is to race at coastal
sites.

As always, AMA required and first timers fly for free. F3F
is an open event. Anything from 60” on up can be competitive.

White Point is located a couple of miles north of Pt.
Fermin. To get there, pretend you were going to Pt. Fermin,
but pass right on by it. A few miles beyond Fermin, you'll
see a baseball diamond on your left. You’re there. This
is White Point Park. You can park on the street, or you
can feed the meters and park in the parking lot. There
are real bathrooms, a playground and below are tide pools
with beach parking. This is a family friendly kind place.

It is a beautiful spot-- I'm headed up on Saddleback Mtn tomorrow to search some flying sites. You guys might be interested in what I find for racing! I'll let ya know.
