How much current can I get from Radio shack 8 cell 1600 mah Nimh

Supposedly these packs are on sale for 19.99
I am getting ready to build either a
Zagi or a T-52 (may have to do both).

I think these packs must be for rc cars.

I don't have a part number Radio shack site is useless.

Initialy they will be built with a stock power plant
i.e. S400 but they may someday get a mag mayhem.

Would these packs do those systems on those planes.
They would need to do somewhere around 20 amps
since thats what the zagi esc comes with.

I have a few of these packs and work great as long as you don't push them to more then 12AMPS or so. I use them in my Twister with a P480, 4.75X4.75 APC E-prop and 8 cells. I can fly for 14 mins on this set up. The performance is not quite at the 600AE teritory but it does just fine.

If you can solder batteries, the Sanyo is a MUCH better battery and for $2 each, a cheaper one too. See Sanyo HRAAU 1600mah NiMH.
Order without tabs and use radio shack desolder wick as connector wire. There are many posts on how to make battery packs.

Yes, the Sanyo is a better choice. It's just so hard to resist when you can walk down the street and buy new R/C stuff! It's a good thing LHS's don't carry good electric gear!!

I used the 2500s on my SlowStick last year when they where even cheaper. They're OK but one lost capacity quick. Sorry I don't remember the exact flights now. While you can get them at the LhS li-Pos are they way to go.
