I don't know where to find free plans, but have you looked in the Jets Forum. There is a great thread for a Midi Fan powered version that Steve Neill (U812) and Barry (Monkamarm2000) designed. EAM is now carrying the kit, although if you read the postings, people are still working through the aerodynamic tweaking (i.e., CG location) to get this one stable.

Here's the link -> http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=202005

Regards!

Paul

You could do as I did:
Find and Buy the Plastic scale Model of the 183.. then take the included three views to a local Copy shop and have them enlarged to the Scale of yer Choice.. 1/12 th is approx 32" span.. a Wemo Mini fan has lotsa room to spare in the fuse.
It is possible to build a Huck at this scale to be 10oz..painted

Thanks Paul,

Hang in there we are getting close. I talked to Heiner and he has been un able to fly lately because he's selling his house but did tell me he will get video soon and report on his mods.

He says he's been getting good flights and has modified the tail's LE to be sharper. Also the battery has been lowered to the bottom of the airframe which also helps. CG has been moved forward.

Kits are just about ready and the new fuses are all done.

Steve

One of the English RC magazines had a pullout plan in an issue about two years ago, you can probably order the plan. I don't remember what magazine it was, but it wasn't Quiet and Electric Flight International. I don't recall the names of the other mags at the moment, but someone here may remember. I think it was a plan for hotwire cutting of foam. There's not a lot of free EDF plans out there, I can probably count the ones I can think of on one hand.

The free plan was for an all-foam brushless minifan-powered model of around 34" wingspan.
My copy is hidden under all sorts of stuff in the cupboard...

Control was with no rudder or elevators - ailerons were used as elevons.
It flew great, I saw it at York.

Keven.
