Ray,

Hey if you go to page 1 of this thread, about five ir six replies down on the page you will see one with the photo of the yellow swiss Jungmeister.

Right click on the photo and save it to your hard drive. Let me know if it works that way. Otherwise I'll be glad to dig it out and re- email it to you again ok?...

Well today I glued the top center section to the top two wing panels to form the complete upper wing.

This was easier than I had planned. After sanding the proper dihedral angle to both wing panels, I taped the center section down to the wax paper on the table and then CA'd the wing sections to it.

Two pieces of bass wood were cut to angle , as shown on the second photograph close-up , to provide reinforcement. The joint is VERY strong. I tested by putting quite a bit of flew force on the wing. Furthermore I will wrap some thread and apply CA to it around the joint to further secure it.

This wing still needs the interwing strut supports which will be made out of basswood.

Tonight I'll get started on building the center section for the lower wing..."you can reach Rome...one...step..at..a...time...."...

The above is a GLOW-to-ELECTRIC conversion online calculator and it may provide you with a helpful tip on your selection of power setup based on your estimated weight.

Carlos,

Great link. I checked out the web page and used the first part to calculate the target weight. Very interesting and very optimistic results. Here's how it plays for my Jungmeister:

WING AREA: 559 sq. inches ( hurray for biplanes!!)
TARGET WING LOADING: 15 oz/sq. ft. (this should alow it to fly like a trainer)

Put into the calculator it gives me:

MAX WEIGHT: 58.23 oz. (3.6 lbs. )

These are great news since I'm sure I can keep the final AUW below that mark.

I can safely shoot for a 20 amp. system and still have excellent performance.

I'm getting inclined to the HIMAX/gearbox combo. They're reliable, quite affordable and I just love that gearbox sound. I'll have to check the HIMAX options to see which motor would be the best choice. Carlos, you have experience with HIMAX, any recommendations?...I'm all ears...

finally some progress!!

Can't believe the last post was on Oct 17. Been sidetracked by other things ( a fun to fly E-Flite Ultimate for one...) and haven't put in the time into this build.

However last night I finally got to finish the main structure of the lower wing. Got it glued to the center section. still to do on the wings...glue the reinforcements between the center section and the wing panels on the lower wing and also the interwing strut attachment points.

Here's a photo of the progress so far...with the cowling added for the photo.

That's just fantastic!

Gerry,

Please start to cover the top wings at least so, you get even more momentum to finish this great looking model!

I have faith in you that you will be done by the end of this month and on December 1st, 2004 she will be ready for the maiden like you promised.

By the way Gerry could you tell me how I can send pictures to this group. I have some great flying shots of my Bucker. Did you get your Hobby Lobby new catalog yet? The Bucker is back in their stock. Ray

This is a great thread! I am a huge fan of Buckers having built four of various sizes. I need to do an electric this size. Terrific looking build job. Here is a pic of my latest, a 60 inch span slimer with a 80 lazer four stroke.

Jungmann,

I figured you would be a breat Bucker fan judging by your screen name

That is a beautiful Jungmann. Did you build it from scratch or is it a kit?.

If you're planning on building an electric Jungmeister, there are the Cleveland plans for a 32" span fee flight scale one. Also , the one I'm building, 43" span makes for a fine scale subject as well. For this one you can get laser cut balsa parts as well as a fiberglass cowling at:

Would love to see more photos of your Buckers...thanks for sharing!!

Hi Ray,

Yes I noticed the Bucker's back in the Hobby Lobby catalog. It is a fine looking model but, again a little pricey for my budget...

To post photos just go down to the "manage attachments" button below your post reply window and that will open up the upload window. They like people to keep files around 50K so it won't bottle neck their bandwith. Please by all means post those photos of the real Bucker!!...
