Hi,
Make a new landing gear from 1/16 wire using stock one as pattern. Kit lg is to floppy.
Make the axles long enough to use the new DuBro super lite weight wheels, or the Dave Brown lite flight wheels ( I have the DB on mine ) TM will not notice tiny weight increase.
Todds Models has some nice little 7 cell NImh packs for aroung $15 that work well and give 10+ min flight times. You will need to open up the battery compartment a little. Best to do before gluing halves of fus together.
If you are going to abuse it, flying wires from the lower wing joiner piece, just outside of fus, to the upper part of the wing struts will stiffen up the wings a lot with no weight gain. I used
20 lb monofilament colored with a marking pen.
This is the most fun model I have had in 40 yrs of rc!!! Just pure fun, flight without fear!
And they thermal great!! Doesn't sound like much, but finding thermals can be quite challenging!
