Which would be smart in one sense, as if the turbine wheel DID explode, it would cause MUCH less harm!
So it doesn't work, but it's really, really safe. Right, I'm not buying any turbines from you.

QUOTE: "So jetjoe isn't in China!

You know why they don't sell Chinese cars in the U.S.? Because they don't meet our standards for safety and crash resistance. The possibility for injury/death/property destruction is too high. A model sized jet turbine engine is a lot less dangerous than a full size automobile. I can't see that there would be that much concern. Maybe the government is just afraid that cheap jet engines would lead to people building weapons to overthrow their communist rule? The exact same reason that the U.S. won't allow Playstation games or certain computers to be sold in some foreign countries - we're afraid of the capabilities if put in the wrong hands!

As far as I can tell, everything George007 has said is purely conjecture. I've seen no facts. China is a country with over 1 billion people, is it feasible that maybe there is a company in such a large country you HAVEN'T heard of George? I don't pretend to know everything about the U.S. because it's impossible. I may know what gold costs per ounce, but I don't know what it costs a goldsmith in Florida to make one.

Can you prove how much Inconel costs in China? And how do you know so much about the manufacture of turbines? It really sounds fishy to me. To quote Shakespeare's Hamlet, George "doth protest too much, methinks."

U've seen no facts. have U seen the facts of jetjoe coming from China?
have U seen the facts that jj1200'turbin wheel is made of the Inconel 718 or 713? U dunno!
If a turbine wheel were not made of the Inconel 718 ,
It would be mean injury, death, property destruction.
I wish everyone be careful!
I am being in china .
There is not any jet engine in the market of the region, e'ne the few guys sell Second-hand(newer) jet for ¥30000--40000(about $2460--3240)in a forum of China.which one is more expensive? jj--1200 or Second-hand?

b) The price of the Inconel 718 or 713c stainless steel is $61--67/kg in the market of the region, turbocharger rotor are usually volume-producing for truck, the output of baby jj-1200 turbine wheel is less to the turbocharger rotor'. jetjor can't make turbine wheel less to $90 with Inconel 718 or 713c!
I think the cost of making is about $900-1000 for baby jj-1200
So jetjoe isn't in China!
If jj1200 were come from China(only $599),
it could not make with Inconel 718 or 713 stainless steel.
you might serach micoturbojet on the sohu.com that is the most gate websit of china:
http://www.sohu.com/
You cannot get the infor of selling or adverting about turbojet.

Hi george007, You say you are from China so Iam very curious to know how many jet modellers there are in China? do you have any major jet rallys in China? also where are you located?
I also agree with you about real world production complexity and costs to manufacture high quality turbine engine components.

ET- I agree with your comments about labour cost in China being much lower... JJ could easily make engines for lower cost no denying that, but they would need to have done plenty of homework on thier projected sales base and minimum sales volume etc. So I would say if going into large scale engine production as I assume would be the case with JJ why so they appear to apply so little effort to serious marketing and web presentation (compared with Skymaster for example) as JJ would need to sell a lot of engines to be financially viable right, marketing via a serious advertising campagin would make sense right? and what would there profit margins really be also if they do not sell in very, very large numbers??? this is what really tells me 'that dog dont hunt'
I also have a Skymaster F-18, all Skymaster kits are made in mainland China also and the Skymaster quality is very, very good, and certainly excellent $ value compared with many overpriced European and US manufactured kits. You have me wondering what Skymasters profit margin must be.....
My only concern with JJ being simply weather they are a legitimate company? hey count me in for a couple also if they are legit regardless of country of origin

A request for info

I've gone ahead and requested some information from JetJoe. 1. Where are the engines manufactured? 2. What type of metal are they fabricated from? and 3. Are the cases designed to withstand turbine failure? Hopefully this will clear up any misconceptions here.

Since the commercialisation of the Internet in China in 1995, China has become one of the fastest-growing Internet markets in the world. The number of domestic Internet users is doubling every six months.

With the introduction of the Internet, news reaches China from a multiplicity of sources enabling people to form opinions, analyse and share information and to communicate in ways previously unknown in China. Lively on-line debate characterised the start of the Internet in China. However, the potential of the Internet to spread new ideas has led the authorities to take measures to control its use.

The authorities have introduced scores of regulations, closed Internet cafes, blocked e-mails, search engines, foreign news and politically-sensitive websites, and have recently introduced a filtering system for web searches on a list of prohibited key words and terms.

ANOTHER WHOIS Search shows that JetJoe.com's internet provider is Chinanet Shanghai Province Network

All of the information here shows it is a website in China...the billing goes to China, the webmaster is in China...even the DNS looks for the IP address at two chinese websites -- dns.bizcn.com and dns.cnmsn.net.

It would seem to me that all the indicators point to this being a Chinese owned website...and very probably for a product manufactured there! We'll wait for the email reply!

It's nice indeed to have the freedom to search for anything at anytime or anywhere. I hope it's something that we never lose. It is scary to think of that. The most likely culprit (at least in the U.S.) would be an attempt to ensure national security.

I think there are enough people online who would fight against any type of censorship, restrictions or control (look at Napster or Kazaa users!). It would have to be done without our knowledge!

HI,sweet! I post a link to you about
the information of propeller modeller.but there are not the information of Chinese jet modeller:
http://www.model1st.com/rc-link.htm
ps. I don't agree with ET comments about labour cost in China being much lower, the emolument of a worker is $200 a month, the emolument of a worker only adapts to non-technic worker, a worker that who make the die for moulding get $6000 a month,
a worker that who operates Data-controled milling machine get $2500--7000.Skymaster F-18 is a lower--technic production.

mwraight: “Since the commercialisation of the Internet in China in 1995, China has become one of the fastest-growing Internet markets in the world. ”
you are wrong, you can post any ad or infor in China, you can link freely any website in China, because there isn't the product, so there are not the information of Chinese jet modeller.

Ok George007. Post an ad in China that says - "I disagree with communism and think it should end today." Or "I totally dislike our form of goverment and desire a new one." I'm going to be someone would notice and you'd end up in prison. You're not free to post any ad you want -- and if you want proof go ahead and try it. The world saw what happened at Tiananmen Square in 1989, the world is aware of the number of political prisoners who disagreed with the communist government and the world is aware that the internet is filtered in China. Of course you probably know very little about this since everything you get is filtered through the communist government. You can have your own opinion, but you must keep it to yourself - which is probably why you're being a pest about this whole JetJoe thing -- you've found a place where you can actually have an opinion without the government telling you how to feel or what to think -- and you can finally vent about something without being thrown in jail -- so you're going to make the rest of us in the free world suffer your wrath.

I feel for you...

I only want to tell everybody--be careful--it is a danger that turbine wheel is not made of Inconel 718.

machine can kill?

Come on guys... everything's just speculation at this point. Let's just wait until EasyTiger (hopefully) gets his turbine delivered, and posts about it. ET, I think you'll have an attentive audience! I for one would love to get my hands on a turbine for $1000.
