Motor Swap and other mods for Hummingbird
Hey guys I am thinking of making some more upgrades to the hummingbird
here is what I am thinking if anyone has any input it would be appreciated.
ACRO280 BB motor (will run on stock mixer)
Like90 BLades (what pionion would I need?)
Apogee 10.5C 1050mah 2s1p 7.4V Lipoly
G10 Frame have some questions on this one whether its worth it or not.
DD EDP50-CX Tail motor and 3020 blade

Based on my V.2 setup, the Like90 blades track well and are very very durable (still on my first set with over 11 flight hours on them). I am using a 10T pinnion with my Johnson 250 and get about 12-14 minutes with Etec 2C 1200ma lipos. My G10 frame is heavier than the stock one (less time in the air), but, darn near indestructable! It is a good upgrade, but, a little harder to move your batteries forward on if you have a DD or Twin tail motor setup.

The G-10 frame weighs 20 grams. The stock landing gear with battery mount weighs 12 grams. So you will gain some weight. But I have to tell you, the G-10 is the best mod you can buy. PERIOD. I debated it for about 4 weeks then finally did it because I was tired of busting up my stock landing gear. It has paid for itself 10x over. You will not regret getting.
Ditch the like 90s. They are not as good as every one says. Get the CF baldes from century. I paid $39 for mine and I have crashed them repeatedly on the concrete & asphalt. Like 90's will double over with one hit on the street. These CF blades are as durable as the G-10 frame. This is the second best mod I have done. The CF blades are $$ but they are worth every penny. Your flights will be so stable you will not believe it. The next mod you must do is pay the $11 buck to Helihobby and get their CF head stiffener... this = even more stability. Check out my home page to view my heli and my separates set up.

Here is what I am thinking
1.Acro 280BB or Johnson250 would love input
The acro has replaceable brushes but there are great reviews on the johnson
2.Apogee 10.5C 1050Mah 7.4V Lipo
3. Gonna Get the G10 frame for sure ( will drill out lightening holes in stock frame before bolting on G10)
4. I am going to go with Like90 blades for sure though.
Need some input on pinion selection also for this bird with the motor selections.
thanks again all
