Hey...I wouldn't do it either if I were you. It's a risky adventure for the Prince every time out, I can't imagine the difficulty with anything bigger. Thanks for the thought and who knows maybe one day we will get to meet on the high seas.

Absolutly beautiful ship !
Your pics inspired me to build my own topsail schooner based on the Prince's rig, although on a MUCH smaller scale.

(If you don't want the pic here, let me know and I'll remove it)

Actually I've been loosely following your footy build. Very cool!

I gathered the materials and plans to put a footy together...but it is going to be awhile before I get to it.....I haven't even had time to work on the pile of wood on the building blocks now in last couple of months. I love the schooner footy....well done.

I've downloaded plans for several hulls to include the Razor but haven't decided yet. Heck I may try a schooner.

If you do make it a topsail! It seems like there is a bit of a movement to build some square-rigged Footys . Heck, someone should host a race!

Some pics and a video of the sail yesterday. This is the first decent video I've gotten of the Prince. The winds were very light a variable making sailing a challenge.

I'm not sure who penned the song, I know Jimi, Neil, and Eric do it too but that was the Stevie Ray rendition.

Thanks for the look and comments guys...I don't get the big gal out much (the ship dummy ) due to transportation, club and weather considerations, but when I do I get a lot of attention with her. Capt. Sunshine said she needed a fresh water wash down....funny I never even noticed the dust till I saw the close up shots of the deck. I guess that's the last thing I'm looking for before sailing. If the pond were cleaner I could pour some water over her decks, but I'm not going to take her down, put her up, take her down and put her up again (at home) just to get her washed in the backyard. Too much work. Maybe the dirty pond water would be better than nothing?

Ok...did some research on that song...it is a Jimi song that has been redone by too many to list...here is an interesting link to read on it: http://www.songfacts.com/detail.php?id=2485

Hello...I mean ahoy....thanks Ghosty! See really does sail very nicely and can give even the very fast light wind Nirvana sailors a run for the money.
