Bought a Nikon coolpix 3700...looking for a memory card that will do video...
Hi everyone. I finally bought a nikon coolpix 3700 and am trying to find a memory card that will do the 640X480 30 fps video. I found this one on ebay and was wondering if it will work, here is a link: ebay memory card If this one isn't fast enough for the video, what does a card need in-order to take the video?

Get a Panasonic and you're save. Don't know about other brands yet but there should be some. Serious suppliers should be able to tell you how many MB/s their cards can handle. AFAIK the good ones are in the 10 range.

Lexar are a very good make but you need ones marked as 32x speed. The ones on the link you give are only normal speed and won't be able to take continuous video for more than a few seconds.
32x speed cards cost more and I'd suggest getting at least a 256mb card.
I use 256mb and 512mb Lexar 32x cards in my 3700 and am very pleased with them.
You should also consider getting a USB 2.0 card reader for your PC because the video files will take ages to download via the camera.

The Sandisk standard 512 card will work and give 7.5 minutes of hi-res. The card does get warm but it does keep up. The Sandisk Ultra II makes easy work of it.
