Cool
Members KW prop club

There was an idea started by Hoser in the EDF forum that for some reason...just struck me as a great idea. I spoke with him via email about taking this concept to the prop side of the house. He agreed and here we are.

I have ordered the below logo (thanks hoser) in limited supply, so for all of those that can prove to me their power set up reached over 1000 watts and you had at least one successful flight I will send you a custom vinyl decal you can place on your model, field box or where ever you like.

Just email any proof you can offer and your a member. Bill Fulmer is cutting them and I will mail them out as soon as they arrive.

And for some of you (and I dont have to name names ), there will soon be a 2Kw logo.

-Mike

Great idea Mike. I've been following the 1 Kw EDF thread. Good to see someone do the same thing here.

Thanks Greg. This is Hosers brainchild and I think worthy to bring it here.

Sign me up for a patch. I just make it with my Dynaflite Flybaby conversion. 24 cells at 45 amps just off the charger gives me 1080 watts.

1KW is rather tame in this day and age,..I say 2kw at least. Let's see,.. I've got a couple at 1.2 and 1.3,.. one at 2.5, and a dearly departed that was at 3.2 for a while, and another that was at 2.4, then lowered by re-propping to 2.0 since it was a bit too insane

1KW club is about like what we used to refer to as the "40 amp club",.. they're both rather benign in this day and age.

Hoser,

That is a great idea.

Mike, good idea to bring it over. Hmmm...this is a bad influence on a hotliner that I want.

This is the system I am running in my 1/3 scale, so you may want to add a 4KW to that list.

Do they have to be BIG??

Here is my F5B Ariane V11. It has 24 cells and a Hacker Carbon 9M motor. With a RFM 16/16 prop and a measured 90 amps we are at 1.7 KW
