Viking S-3 Video and pictures

Good morning guys,

e-flightline hobby is happy to announce another successful testing of a Jet that really fly's like it should.

Wattage S-3 viking with the power upgrade is a great combo. The power system is a direct replacement for the stock system. Again its a bit spendy due to the fact you need to run two ESC, but we feel its worth the price.

See the video here As you can tell from the video the flight performance is really good and we feel you can put any of the power systems we have tested in the A-10 into the S-3 Viking to customize what performance your looking for. We used the 2015-4100 as the middle of the road for Viking. You can get more power with the 5400 but would need to upgrade to the Phoenix 25's. If your looking for pure speed you can go with the 3s set up with the 3600's.

If you have any questions please feel to email us at splash@e-flightline.com

Have a great day guys.

edf65 vs stock fan

apologize if this is common knowledge. is the edf-65 a significantly better performer than the stock wattage fan?
what did the AUW end up being?

thanks,
neal

Good day guys,

Ah come on Ado ......I do the best I can. Im just a rookie pilot and it was the first time down with a lot of aileron throw......Ok ok, im just not too good. But the plane took it well

Neal - The EDF-64 is more sturdy and the Himax brushless motors fit in very nice with our Cobri 300 shim. I have done a lot of testing with the GWS fan sets and reall like them. The AUW of the S-3 is 24.8 oz. about 8 oz lighter than what wattage states as its flying weight.

Good day fleanme,

If you want to order the fans and motors now. I will update the site to include the EDF-64's. They should be arriving some time this week.

Electrafast, nice looking plane. Elevators look about the same angle as mine. Should be fine. Are you using Castle Creations 25 amp esc's? Thats what I used and didnt have any luck with them. Motors would vibrate back and forth too much before finally spooling up. Would be ok if both motors did this but sometimes one would just sit there and vibrate back and forth while the other would spool up like normal. Not good. They were new contollers. bought 2 more from Splash and they did the same thing. I tried a jeti 18 advance and the throtle control is much smoother and more consitent on start up. Let me know if u have any issues with your motor and esc combo. The motor im using is the hmax 3600. Jim

Speed control question.

Yeah, I'm using the same speed controls.
I'm not noticing any problems on the bench, as I try to estimate full power flight times. If I remember correctly, you have a 3 cell and I'm using a 2 cell tanic.
Don't know if that makes a difference. Was going to fly last Saturday but had a soccer player infestation at my primary field. Will try to fly the Viking this Saturday. Definitely more power and for sure much lighter than the stock set up. At the moment I feel much more comfortable with this set up.
