That reminds me, I had seen that there was a mistake in the hall sensor wiring in the datasheet. The connection from Hall2 and 3 to the resistor from Vcc is missing in the datasheet. Hall1 is hooked up correctly. Guess this was what your question was about.

The terminal marked JMP is the one going to rx. It goes to the mosfet where you would normally connect the motor.

The battery is directly connected to Vm. Vcc needs to be around 5V, so you need a regulator. The current needed is very low, so you can use any light weight regulator or even a zener.

lanre,

It would be better if you describe what kind of receiver you have and what its outputs are.

The circuit I gave works for receivers with built in ESC with PWM rate in kHz range. If you have something else, you might need to redesign the low pass filter. Basically what you need is a differential signal proportional to the throttle applied between EC and ECR pins. If you need more help, you need to give details about your rx.

Me, I'm looking for a new power-FET for a UPS and a decent ESC I can build into a rebuilt computer fan. I would like to build a decent fan for, maybe, an F-18 EDF jet. ...that and have me a high-powered (1400VA) UPS. 4 IRFZ-46's are used in the inverter for this thing, and they've all blown!

rewound CD-ROM motors

Hi, I am new around here. I was wondering if this controller would work with rewound CD-ROM motors like the ones you can find at http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showp...87&postcount=4.

If not, does anybody know how to simply modify the controller in order to make it able to do so?

thanks,
Rafael
