My first E-flight: Tiger Moth

Firstly, thank you to everyone for all the helpful advice, tips and jiggery-pokery. My Tiger Moth is ready for its maiden flight and my first ever e-flight.

I will post an update later today on the outcome. I will either be itchin to get out there again or I will be utterly devastated and start cursing all and every device that operates using the flow of electrons.

The wife is coming along to help me launch but sadly I think her motivation is to laugh and point if it all goes pear shaped.

stand by to stand by.....

congradulations! The TM is a very forgiving trainer. Mine's landed upsidedown, hit nose-first from hi altitudes a few times, and flew it into a pole suspended from a ceiling in my school's gym. Just remember when you leave the house to go fly somewhere, bring some thick Ca for the fuse and the prop, some reinforced packing tape, and a camera (cameraperson recommended ).

One word of advice...she doesnt fly inverted :P

Well everyone, it seems I spoke too soon. Would you believe we've had perfect weather all weekend (and it's been a long weekend) but when I decide to go out and squint at the sun light with my new TM, the wind picks up.

One word......bugger!

It was actually my wife/launch buddy/camera person who convinced me that I wasn't Chuck Yeager and didn't have to prove to anyone that I can crash a plane as well as the next man.

Will try again after work today. *sigh!*

I have a limited supply of chargers coming over as well
I will however also be looking at bringing in JMP's little wonder lithium chargers from WEStecknic as they can charge a 3 cell pack as well--Wa;ter Scholl highly recommends them
Thanks for the link -- great minds think alike --- these chargers are about 80$AUS

I need to dispell this myth -- she does fly inverted!!!!
at a sink rate of say 4" per second with full down elevator
Just make sure you pull out at least 25 feet off the ground -- and man does it loop out quickly when you do!!

Good Luck

Hope the wind calm down soon for you. You are smart to wait intil they do.

Just one word of advise. If you can find a place to fly where you can simply take off of the ground, I think that would be better than having you wife hand launch. If she doesn't toss it just right it could be awfully eratic and will probably splat right into the ground. Plus she can take pictures and laugh at you better if she is watching from a distance.

Can't wait to here your report!
