For the Brushless Challenged....?
After flying brushed electric for about a year now, I have become interested in brushless motors for my planes (right now a MM Switchback). After browsing through a large chunck of the Power Systems Forum, I could not find any threads that explain the various (and rather confusing) numbers that are associated with the different motors (Aveox 27/39/2, Mega 22/20/3E, Himaxx 2025-4200, etc.) or an explaination of how to select all the parts of a power system that will work.
I was wondering if anyone knew of a thread (or could just throw out some information) with an explaination the different types of motors and how their identifying numbers work/how to use them. Also any help as far as how select the different components (ESC, Batteries, motor, prop) to make a system do what you want would be great.
Thanks
Thatcher
