Wishing she was full size, but then there's the cost of batteries!

David...did you add any washout into the wingtips? Where did you CG end up being?

Not yet Mike...It had to go on the shelf for a bit. I was picking up a bunch of sidework to pay for the lasercutter I just got. Add in the 'honey-do' list, vacation and everything else that pops up in the spring/summer. I still have a couple of jobs to finish up, so I'll pick it back up in about 3-4 weeks. This really adds to the motivation since David's specs are very close to mine, and his design works!

Mike.......Eric B.......... Thank you.

Now don't push Zeke, he has a full house while I have empty nest syndrome. I forgot to add in my specs.: TIME TO DESIGN & BUILD: 350 hour+. I'm sure Zeke is somewhere in that time frame.

I tried to build 1/8" washout into the wings with the cross bracing, but it didn't stay. After covering, one wing half had a tad of washout and I heated the SoLite on the other wing half to match.

CG is just ahead of 25% MAC. As is she is very stable. I kinda feel that I could move the CG back and she might sustain inverted flight; With 20 degrees of total stabilizer movement, I run out of down elevator, but plenty for normal flight.

LOL...It's sad but true (not that I'd trade in my family for the hobby...most days). Mike knows all about the time and delays that go into designing a plane, with the intent of kitting it, with a full time commitment (you're finished your masters now, right Mike?)

I was planning on starting out at about 30% MAC...I may have to reconsider...hmmmm. I was going to make a 1/4 scale chuck glider anyway to test the CG range. Did you do any stall tests? My one major worry is tip stalling.

The stall is gentle. Recovery is quick; Just level the wings and let the nose drop a bit. I was originally going for 30% and had a mental argument with CompuFoil over the final placement.

25% is safe. Tip stalling and how well she flys on EDF 50s will be a result of wing loading.

Now that is one cool jet! We need to see some video of that. At a 7.8 oz wing loading, she must be nicely scale.
