Ian, as far as I recall the Falcon came out in the late 1940s; I understand that it was based on, or a copy of, a design, the name of which escapes me, from the late 30s in the US. I think it was a ben shereshaw design but couldn't be 100% sure.

I have a December 1946 Aeromodeller mag. here that on page 68 the FALCON, COMPETITOR, SCORPION, JUNIOR 60, AJAX AND ACHILLES are all advertised.
The FALCON it says won at Eaton Bray in September 1946......so '46 it must be. FWIW the AJAX and ACHILLES go back pre WW2. '38 I think from memory, without looking it up. |
