I was going to ask the same question, so I thought I would just bump this one up.
I am planning on using spray paint, does it add a lot of weight to the canopy?

There has to be someone who is proud of their paint???

I am going to try to paint a rebel flag on my canopy. I'll post some pictures when I am done.

I do not like that skull in it it looks very bad to me. The ones without it are much better. You could have chosen something better that that. Otherwise the work if great. You have some talent for sure.

Maybe try some happier colors ?

Thanks for the comments - you might be right but these are my first steps into the hobby, wasn't sure what else to paint it as red, orange & yellow are the normal colours in fire. I reckoned if I could get it to a really realistic look I might have a niche in the market as not many can do it properly, it's a lot more difficult than you'd think and I still have lots to learn - points taken on board and more canopies on the way without a trace of those colours and not a skull in sight will post pics as soon as it's done -- cheers

Skulls don't appeal to everyone, obviously, but yours seems well done, and there'll always be a market for that theme if you intend doing this commercially. Good luck with it.

Thanks for the replies folks please keep them coming and LOTS more pics of any work you might have done yourselves - would really like to see this thread come alive properly as there is nothing better than sharing examples and opinions for learning

My eagle cano is about to be finished today & I will post some pics of it pre-gloss tonight and post-gloss tomorrow - since I employed myself I have very little concept left of day & night this takes a lot of time so I just sleep when I'm tired

As you might have noticed I am trying to stay away from the pointy lines and dagger stroked cano's as I think we have quite enough of those in the market, just trying to create something a little different so there ya go

Thanks again and all the best everyone!

Paintinator, your skills are excellent. However, the 80's are gone, man.

Mark, I also have 2 of those Eflite chargers, one for 3s, one for 2s and 3s, and if you wanna take my advice, bin them. Your lipos will thank you.
Liking the Ebola theme on the heli, looks good.

Mark001 those quads are cool but I bet the green themed eagles are excellent for visibility - a problem that's happening to my stuff is people say it goes dark in low light, probably due to the gloss and all that candy - when I see vids of custom cars the candy color is only apparent when sunlight hits the correct angles, otherwise it tends to go pretty dark - got to work on that I guess

Hugo Stiglitz was wondering what you mean the 80s have gone - I wasn't into rc or custom paint then, do you mean my stuff has all been done before?

I still don't see myself turning out stripes'n' dagger strokes as anyone with masking tape and a spraycan can do those, although they look nice and I'm not running anyone's work down, as I said before I just think there are enough of them available- thanks for the compliments though
