How would you power this plane?

My buddy has one on order and he wants to electrify it. Would it be better to power it as a hotliner or pylonracer? He also needs some direction as to what power system to use. Thanks! Ben |

It looks like the limiting factor will be what size battery it will hold. It looks like 400/480 brushed or brushless will be the max. Hard to say without actually seeing it. Probably no "500W Ghost" thread in the future.
 It's not very big for a glider (~280 sqin), so the best bet would be to power it more for speed and less for "hotliner" performance. -David |

Yeah, that's what I would do. You could try a small folder, but I suspect the glide won't be as nice as you'd like, since it's so small.

4.8v speed 400 on 7 cells of the gp110os or kan 1050's perhaps if they'll fit. A 380 brushless might also work great, like a little razor. I think the issue might be getting it to balance with all the weight of the motor, because it is a flying wing type. Would be a very fun project though!
