Vision Market Status?

Years ago I began to notice how the market for Vision radios seemed to
remain stronger than most other radios. No surprise, it's a darn fine radio.
But now, after years of staying constant, it seems that market is declining.

So, I'm wondering, how many visions are still in operation?

The Vision used to be one of a kind -- expensive, yes, but unique in its
programmability. Its has not become obselete , its just other, cheaper,
radios have caught up.

Its probably still one of a kind. I don't know, I've got a cheaper radio
(9C). ("Works for me.") If I had a Vision I'd probably hang on to it,
there's now probably more radios than potential users so the prices will be
depressed, and its to all intents and purposes irreplaceable.

Bill,

I have 3 Visions, a Stylus and an RD6000 Super.

If I had to get rid of all of them except one, I would
probably keep one of the Visions.

Vision Market Status?

I've had a number of them over the years and I simply LOVED them. They were
easy to program, were fairly light, and did virtually everything I wanted to
do with a sailplane. Although there was nothing wrong with mine, I decided
to sell my last one a few months back because I was worried about
parts/repairs capability. I know the IC chips aren't made anymore and they
are becoming hard to find on the wholesale market. I didn't want to get
stuck with a radio I loved but couldn't be fixed.

I had been using a 10x for giant scale so I started using one for
sailplanes. It certainly is not as easy to program as the Vision, mainly
because there are no presets. But Mike L. and Jim B. have been of much
help. I'm impatiently waiting for the 9103 or 9x, whichever they call it.
Hopefully it'll have the programming ease we came to enjoy with the Vision,
and it has side sliders which is pretty much mandatory for the soaring
pilot. Why they waste their time with the knobs on the front I'll never
know. gv
