Humming Bird Newbie Help
Hello guys; just got a used hummer, the cp type, looks in good shape, has gws servos, pha-01 3 in 1, stock motor(main snd tail), and a 6 channel micro receiver by gws. The problem is the following, I'm using a jr 662, I've turned on the 120 ccpm and everytime I push the elevator the motor speeds up, and the contrary when y pull the elevator up, all servos are moving on the same direction on the collective, but i can't get the bird flying, can some one help please.
Thanks Dennis |

i'm confused
why would you have a pha01 3 in 1, with a CP heli...can you even do that ? I thought the pha01 was only for FP. Sure it's not a fixed pitch heli ? |

I had the same problem with controlling it. Remove the things that plug into the receiver and plug them into different slots till it corresponds correctly to the actions of the transmitter.

now that you mention it, on a JR receiver and transmitter, it goes like this
Channel 1, throttle Channel 2, aileron Channel 3, elevator Channel 4, rudder. Give that a try I don't know if it will be any different for a GWS rx, but on my Feigao, JR and schulze rx's, they all use this setup |

i'm new to CP's, but my understanding was NO. If you're flying a CP, you need a heli radio with pitch and throttle curves (and revo mixing). So you would use revo mixing instead of using an on-board mixer. You would also need 2 seperate ESC's and a Gyro.
I've been thinking whether or not you can or can't use one...but don't know for sure, but I would say that even if you could, you wouldn't want to use pha01 on a CP heli. Your best bet is to buy a heading hold gyro and 2 esc's....so you're up for some dollars What radio is it ? It sounds like it is a heli radio as you mention changing the ccpm settings. |

I could be wrong (I often am). Also know that I do not have a CP bird. But, I think that you CAN fly a CP machine with a simple on-board mixer. If the throttle and pitch are ties together, it can even be done on a 4 channel dumb transmitter.
Now, I think that it would be better to have a more capable transmitter, but I think it can be done. |

that should work as you can do revo mixing on your transmitter.
how many servos does the heli need ? 3 ? how many channels does your rx have ? |

Ozzie, its your TX that sends the channels in that order. Futaba sends:
1. Aleron 2. Elevator 3. Throttle 4. Rudder So if I switched to your frequncy - I couldn't fly your heli on my TX without a rewire of your heli

thanks dave...i "thought" it was my tx, but was'nt sure if the rx played a part as well. I've read that for most other tx's channel 3 is throttle.
dumberthumbs...can you explain what the difference was ? I'm sure it was a setup issue rather than a "JR" issue. There are lots of happy pilots flying with JR gear |

For Some Reason When I Created The Model On The Jr Radio A Mix Was Brought In With Out Me Knowing About It, (good Thing It Was Just Serviced By Horizon), Otherwise I Tried Everything On The Darn Radio... Reseted It Severaltimes Too..... But With The Futaba, Y Just Plugged Everything And Selected Hr3 Ccpm120 And Presto! That Was Itonly Adjusted The Travels And That Was It. But I Do Accept, That Now A Days A Lot Of People Can Never Or Don't Need A Computer Radios Full Functions.
