Stewart,

The PCB pattern which can be downloaded just now was added to the homepage.

Great thanks Koichi,
In your descrition you said you added .001 uf caps in parralel to the .047uf caps to get the full range of stick comands is this correct ?
If so additional pads could be added to the cct PCB to fit these

Stewart,

I use ceramic resonator for the 4MHz oscillation. In CR oscillation circuit, I think that a problem is in frequency stability.

I thought stability may be the isure with the RC idea , thanks for clearing it up for me

Stewart,

The change range of a pulse can be increased by adding the capacitor of small capacity in parallel with 0.047uF.

Thank you ! I've read the thread (and certainly followed the links..), but i've found nothing about a 4 channel IR-receiver. Does not matter .... I'll keep on searching....

It's hard for me to measure my grammer and spelling...
I am german too ... Greetings from Essen NRW

Tanis,
The 4 ch is only a new developement by Koichi to drive his Linear actuators , I dont think there has been a PCB design posted for a 4ch IRX yet , Darkith has made up decode for a 4ch pic he has included a good text file describeing how to set the assy file befor loading it to the pic ie: transmitter type selection
also his code can be set for 3 actuators +1 motor or 2 actuators +2 motor output . Darkith also includes the pinout connections of the pic's in his text doc .
It shouldnt be to difficult from Darkths info to modify the 3ch IRX PCB for 4 ch .

Heres a link to Darkiths decode : http://darkith.dyndns.org/~darkith/html/ir.shtml

The new TX is really nice. I like it.
Maybe someday we will see poeple leave the buttons on and there will be laser tag like games but with R/C airplanes. That would be wild.

Basic radio information

If like me you are strugggling to get your head around the basics of radio control, I'm finding this article quite helpful. This has a fair level of detail, but seems to be well explained. Apologies to the experts here.

clipclop,
thank you again. That is the stuff i'm looking for ! The source is documented very well ( thanks to Darkiths too !!!), so i can do my own thing. I'll post my results here in this thread, as soon as i've finished it. Till now, i've only made the joysticks (removed the switches, enlarged the way of the sticks and removed auto-centering at one stick). My first PCB will be done on a Veroboard, but if it workes, i'll do an etched PCB.

Regards

New version of IR2 available. (v1.1)

By request, now you can have a 4 ch RX by using 2 8pin PICs together, perhaps piggybacking one on top of the other for compactness.

Also added 2 sample PCBs for 4 ch RX (2 ESC) using 16F630.

http://darkith.dyndns.org/~darkith/html/ir.shtml

Here's a pic of the 16F630 4 ch RX

Here's the bottom.

Bit dark, but it's late, and I should be catching some zzzzz's

Got some thin double-sided PCB from digikey. 0.005", s'very flexible...almost too delicate. Not sure of the weight, have really heavy wires on there right now. 14x13 mm.

Now to build the heli....

Darkith,
Thanks for the update , great work again .
Q? have you looked at the auto throttle channel setting that Andy Birket was working on ?

I read through the code. It just loops after powerup, waiting for any channel to go below or above a set threshold. This channel becomes the throttle channel. If the channel went high, he inverts the throttle. If the channel went low, normal throttle is used.

In theory, it wouldn't be a hard addition...

Should I consider that as a request?

Darkith,
iy would make transmitter matching a lot easier I think . The other thing is can signal be detected to ie if its inverted or not , if this can be done in code there would be no need to do any selections befor burning to pic .
Some of the comercial RX 's have this feature in there code .
I have 2 different TX's which both require Dif settings so I can only use current RX's with there respective TX's would be great not to have to match these .
