Wattage RTF Micro Flyer (thread #1)

Hi All. I was in the library and somehow got a hold of the AUGUST 2004 issue of RCM and there an add for an RTF indoor flyer was adverised by Wattage. It has a 9" wingspan and closely resembles a Clancy Lazy Bee in wingstyle and fuselage. Weight is claimed to be 31 grams, Throttle and rudder control, seems to be coil actuator for rudder, comes with Xmitter powered by six aa batts which also charge the flight batteries. Oh There's a link that is given also in the ad. http://watt-age.globalhobby.com I checked that website but found no info on this thing, sorry about that! Best Regards

Hi tiberius. Its called the Wattage Micro Flyer, I could'nt find it either even though the ad says Need Info? and gives the url. I'm not making this up, the ad shows the now mystery plane nestled in someone's hand though. Well mabe not nestled but it's sitting on an uptuned palm.

If the specs are right, 31 grams seems pretty heavy for a 9" wing span.

If it's like a lazy bee, at 9" span, It'll have 6" chord

I'm a subscriber, so It should show up any day now.

I'd have to agree with Dave 31 grams on a 9 in. wing sounds like a guided missle.

9" span and 6" chord sounds like one of those pizza box flyers!

The new issue of Backyard Flyer has a full-page ad on page 1 and a Current News item on the Micro Flyer on page 17. The only specs: single Li-poly cell, 6 minutes duration, wingspan 8.8", length 8.25", weight 2 oz., controls: rudder and throttle. It's cute and VERY small.

The guy in the picture

The guy in the picture with the little airplane and transmitter is Mike Greenshields, he works for wattage, he's a good guy to talk to.
