Was wondering if anyone has used the Hobbico AquaCraft Reef Racer? I have the Hobbyzone Zig Zag for my son and was considering the Reef Racer. Can anyone comment the Reef Racer? Does the better transmitter on the RR warrant the additional money? What is the performance of the RR? Lastly, what type of battery connector does the RR have? Is that a deans or Tamiya? Thanks Phil

The RR is a much better made boat. The ZZR is a tad faster.

Reef Racer has a standardized Tamiya connector and comes with 1100 mamp NiMh battery of six cells.

The radio is a hobby quality Futaba 2 channel pistol grip AM radio in the 75mhz band. The battery is a 1100 mah nimh 2/3 a 6 cell side by side stick pack with 14ga. wire and a tamiya plug. Powered by a speed 400 6v motor with water cooling. Speed control is electronic, standard size steering servo. Top speed is around 10 knots, runtime at full throttle around 9 minutes, longer with less throttle. Handles very well at full speed, very smooth to drive, turns on a dime.

Has anyone heard much on the ZIG ZAG 2 from HobbyZone?
I just pick one up off eBay and just want a kind of heads up

This little machine kicks som azz. The Reef Racer is sweet (My wife has one), but the Zig Zag seems to keep up the pace as well. I put a lithium 7.2v and she ran 20 mins at full speed.
