Tail-Feather V-Tail Size for SS help...

Hey,

I'm ready to build my SS V-Tail and I would like some opinions...

First I don't have a stock wing...I have the DragonFly wing found here I've asked the owner what the tail-feather dimensions are and they are: Rudder 6" X 8" and Elevator 6" X 17"

I really think I should keep the same shape for the V-Tail (other ideas welcome), but should I make each side of the V-Tail 6" X 8.5" or should I make them slightly larger, say 7" X 9.5"?

What do you all think?

My V-Tail mod will be built like this one

Thanks for any input!

Lex

Well, Lex, I'd say that sounds like a good idea, but don't take my word for it ;-)

Hey, Lex, when in doubt go with the larger tail surfaces. Then you can experiment with cutting them down to see at what point you begin losing stability. Since they're just foam it won't change the CG much, just adjust the battery placement. So much fun!
