I think we're going to have to try the 8th scalers at Wynnum!. I remember something appealed to me about that track, might have been the proximity to mcdonalds..

I'd be up for beers in between races. I swerve all over the track when sober, maybe a few beers would straighten me out!

I used the std 14 tooth pinion with my 5800 and the stock spur, it was fine. Going to 16 made it feel more taxed in the tight stuff.

I found the same thing with the 16t, and also not much more top end speed, but that was when I didn't have lipo batts. Maybe the extra amps might help a bit.

Paul, yep, your better off sticking with the stock gearing, but if you were to run a 13.5BL then you can get away with gearing the bike up more.. The guys in the UK that run 13.5's use something like 20T pinions and 60T spurs..

Have you had a look at moto5 , some good info there..

Shaun

Well I should be ready to go. I have dropped the centre 8mm and the shock, relocated the skid wires as Suggested by shev. Changed the steering to one wire and spring loaded it. Installed new GRP tyres from Brad at Ultra. Installed a 8.5 brushless system using the stock grearing and spektrum radio. I will see you all at Brendale in a few weeks as I will be in Melbourne on the 8th for the 1/8 gas offroad Vic titles so it looks like the 22nd at Brendale. I have been a member at Brendale for some years. It is a great club and the facilities are world class so it is great to have the bikes there. Alright guys Keep the wheels on the black stuff.
Paul
