There are some realy misguided individuals out there. I know all of us love our planes and find them inspirational but isn't this going a little too far.
This guy saw this pic in the slope forum and had too much of the good stuff. So he wanted to see if it was possible to build somthing similar and fly it. Well he's finding out.

What was he somking? This guy decided he wanted his own pico stick cub that he could ride in. Good luck to you buddy.

I might do a scale model of some of those!!!!

Joking apart, a few of us are probably more than capable of designing and flying a man carrying light aircraft.

Whether we are capable of landing it safely is, of course, another point

The only real difference between designing small R/C planes and large man carrying planes is that you need a different control system and structural design becomes more critical at large sizes. Aerodynamically they're all the same. (just bigger reynolds no.s)

Do they have the Red Bull Flying Days anywhere else in the world apart from Germany ? This would be an ideal starting place for anyone taking things too seriously.

Yes they had the Redbull Flugtag in Ireland for a while but I think they've switched to soap box races now!

One word:KMKAZE.

They also have the Flugtag up in the San Francisco area, but it's much less about serious attempts at flight than having a good time by jumping 40 feet into cold water with a bunch of airplane looking stuff strapped on.

I thought so, but wasnt sure. I could swear that not too long ago I saw that on ESPN and there were people dressed as superman and chickens that were just jumping off the pier. Crazy SOB's!
