Full house electric sailplane with the JR-8103?
Hi,
Has anyone out there managed a full house (6servo electric sailplane)? I'd like to get just crow for landing mode and motor (on/off)or(proportional) on either a switch or the throttle stick. Thanks...

I've done it. Do you have the owners manual for the 8103? If you do, skip to the back few pages of the Glider setup section. Its all there, very simply spelled out there. If you don't have it, I can probably fax a copy to you or you can purchase one from JR.

I posted at the link as well. If you want, I can write down what I did. I use the standard glider settings as described in the manual for the controls. The motor operates from the prog mix switch, and took two mixes to allow the ESC to plug into the original throttle channel. (One to disable the stick to throttle, one to enable the switch to throttle.) -- John P

My method will give you both variable throttle control and variable crow from the left stick. I've been using this setup for a couple of years now and believe me, once you try it you'll never look back.

Looks like it is possible after all. Sure hated to have to buy a new radio to "simplify" this new model construction!
