I am converting my Logo 16 to a long boom Logo 20. When setting up the rubber belt it seems like it would create a lot of drag. I have check and double-checked the installation but nothing seems to free it up like a wire or carbon shaft setup. Do any of you Mikado owner ever notice that the belt doesn't seem to spin the tail freely?

On the 10 it feels tighter than I'm used to with a shaft/wire drive.

But the motor spins it up just fine.

What did your Logo 10 come with for a pinion gear? I am thinking I will need a 16t and 12 cells with a Fun 600-18. Have you tryied 14 cells and larger blades? Are you still using the woodies?

When I assemble a LOGO tail boom, before I add the front assembly I hold a little tension on the belt, make sure that it is engaged on the sproket on the tail rotor shaft and give it a tug. If the tail rotor does not spin freely then something has changed during assembly and tightening of the rear case. Once the front part is added, there is a feeling of taughtness and a bit of drag, but the tail rotor will still freewheel somewhat when the front gear is run across your hand.

Unless I am having a "senior moment" there is no pinion included with the kit because of the wide range of gearing that might be required. I would suggest getting the 15T and 16T pinion.

Keep in mind the 1600rpm limit without thrust bearings, too.

I am starting with the 14t on 12 cells with the 600-15 and woodys.

At 75% throttle I get 1320 HS on nicads and 1350 HS with zapped nimh's. Both packs are fresh of the charger, but only cycled a few times.

I have some head wobble to addres before flying though. Looks like the paddle arms may be out a little.

But HS and control seems pretty good.
