A couple of Mini IFO / 1524 questions...
When I was wiring up my Mini-IFO with a 1525 and a GWS Sirius ESC, I had to solder the positive (+) lead from the controller to the negative terminal of the motor in order to get it to spin in the correct direction. Is this correct? There was nothing mentioned in the instructions about this, and I thought it was curious.
Also, my father has the GWS DX-A setup, and his plane seems to fly as well on 8 cells as mine does on 10. I thought the 1524 with the ARC-1 prop was a better solution for the IFO? Thanks, John |

The gearbox fitted to the 1524 requires the motor to run in reverse ... so you do need to swap the pos. and neg. connections from ESC to motor.
The 1524 is a lower kv motor than the GWS, so to produce the same rpm will require more volts (cells). But it will take about half the current of the GWS, run virtually cold, and last almost forever! I use 9x50 on my 1524 with 28x12 WES prop (11.8:1 gearbox). That hauls my Mini IFO up vertically, on 10 cells yours should be ballistic! |

Thanks Bill, do you know of a US source for those props?
Also, how much does your IFO weigh without the battery? Thanks! |

I don't know if anyone in the US imports WES props, you could run a few searches or maybe email WES and ask them. They have replied quite quickly to emails I've sent, contact info. is on their site:
http://www.wes-technik.de/ My Mini was 112g with 9x50 on board. IIRC the pack is 36g, so that would make 76g without. |

John,
In the USA, you can get the WES props from David Lewis (www.homefly.com) or Todd Long (www.toddsmodels.com). Sky Hooks and Riggings (www.microrc.com) also sells them from Canada. Having said that, I prefer the ARC props over the WES (I haven't used the Braun, so I can't say anything about it). The main reason is that I fly over (and crash into) concrete. The ARC props can take that kind of abuse. And if they do break, I can always repair them. In fact, I can even make my own using the building fixture and spare parts. Plus, they's also cheaper than the WES props. Jun Nolasco |

You can get ARC props, spares blades and hubs, and the building fixture from AnythingRC (www.anythingrc.com).
