Thanks, guys! I'm glad you like it.

You're going to make me blush, Nigel...

And of course, Rob - I wouldn't release a version of the spreadsheet that made you look bad...

I to finally got a chance to use the optimization section and agree that this really gets to what you want.

I know that this would probably be difficult but what would really be nice would be an output file listing a number of the top setups. That would allow us to see several choices and the differences between them. There might be a combination that is 99.99% as good as another that I like better because of cost or come other reason.

What do you think?

Good idea!

Actually, I've been thinking the same thing, RC - and I've started working on it. I'm intending to have the optimization code generate a list all of all valid combinations in order from best to worst, along with a few critical stats (headspeed, power density, cost, weight, etc). That way, you'd be able to see all of the combos that meet your constraints.

It's in the works, and isn't much of a stretch for the current optimization code, so you can expect to see something next week, I expect. Normally, I'd have it in a day or two - but this week's particularly busy.

WHAT you mean you do other things besides working on the spreadsheet -- how extremely selfish.

the top combos sounds an excellent idea Oh by the way can you explain how you get this spreadsheet to walk the dog and do the washing up--i am sure its in there somewhere!

Cheers Nigel

New data file available.

I added three Plettenberg motors, two UltraFly A30 motors, and one of the Jazz ESCs. Unfortunately, I couldn't really find much info on the other Jazz controllers. I can probably guess at resistance, and the voltage & current ratings are readily available. But I really need to know how much they weigh. If anybody can point me towards more data for the Jazz controllers, I'd love to include them.

Now then KC lad
You asked for comments so I feel a bit carping here but could you put a logo10 sheet in there?

Please .... please .... pretty please

I keep downloading the latest saga and end up losing my newly created logo sheet, I know I should import it but I'm a bear of very little brain and such things are beyond me...

Many thanks
Paul

Yet another update. Version 5.3 now available...

Reesy - I'll be happy to add a Logo 10 sheet as one of the default sheets. I'll stick it in the spreadsheet and update the online copy - probably tomorrow. I'll let ya know when it's there. Can you, perhaps, provide me with the "empty" weight of a Logo 10? That is - the weight without the power system (Battery, Motor, ESC)?

Ha! A Logo 10 configuration is the one I keep adding over and over. Good idea Paul.

Ay up K.C.
I use 60oz following the advice of the estimable Mr Goodrum
Mine is overloaded with bling and nobby radio gear so probably weighs a lot more.
Maybe someone has a more accurate figure?
Many thanks
Paul
