How to build your own 7.2v NiMh battery pack??

Hello everyone. I've been trying to find out how to build my own 7.2v battery pack. I need to know how I should line the batteries up and how to solder them together. If possible can you also post pictures of how to do this. I also wanted to know how I could also do a 7.2v battery setup and also increase the amperage. For example, say I'm using 1.2v 2000 Mah NiMh batteries, how could I go about making a 7.2v 4000Mah?

NiCad and NiMh cells to not respond well to being paralleled. Here's a good article on building.

There is no problem at all with paralleled Nicd/Nimh packs. I've been flying 3x10 cell Kan's for over 6 months with no issues. I connect the 3 packs together with a harness. Just be sure to charge them separately.

You may get by with it fine for years, but why not just use a higher capacity cell or more voltage with a higher turn motor? If something happens to one pack it can very well take the other pack out with it. The voltages on the cells can very widely unlike lithium cells that will be within a few millivolts of each other. If the cells are paralled before being built into a pack, then it wouldn't be as bad.
