Yippee!
I am still new because of the wind.

I did a maiden flight once, but ever since then we haven't flown because of the wind. One good thing about it, is my plane is still new.I have a Hobbico Superstar, glow engine. It is hanging real nice in the garage. My friend and I want to fly, but we are willing to wait for good conditions. I am still practicing on the flight simulator. How many of you have the wind problem like we have here in SD?

Here too

It has been a windy spring in Michigan.
You are showing good judgement and restraint in waiting for calm weather.
You can still look at that beautiful plane in the garage instead of a colorful pile of balsa scraps.
My solution in beating the wind was to get a tough little flying wing that just bounces when it hits the ground. Worry free flying.

I would rather see it hanging in the garage than think of all the money lost.I want to go into this hobby with caution. I've been reading every thread and flying on the PC and I know my next time around will be just as nerve racking as the first.

Southern Colorado has been major wind. I started this round of R/C flying with a Superstar. The engine and electronics are now in a SPAD, as the Superstar was rekitted a while back.

As stated elsewhere: There are two types of R/C pilots...

Those that HAVE crashed, and
Those that will!

I live right on the shoreline in New England...the southeast corner of CT. Backyard is right on a salt water cove, 1 mile down the street is open ocean to Fishers Island Sound/Long Island Sound.

Yup...a nearly constant ocean breeze. So for me....on weekends around 7-8AM is nice flying time, or in the evenings....again 7-8....PM.

It's especially a concern because I'm flying an electric park flier...the SlowStick. They don't like the wind much.

It's a very windy spring here in michigan. I had one good low wind day after the snow melted but I failed to fly my slow stick for more than a couple seconds due to my battery having a false peak. I am starting to think the wind is out to get me.
