The useful links thread!

I'm not sure whether this will work out or not, but I'd hazard that we all have a couple of favourite, vintage orientated websites in our Favourites/Bookmarks files.

So then, how about posting a few? If this works, then we can sticky this thread and use it as a resource.

Anyway, here's a few of mine;

There's a wealth of bizarre freeflight models here;
http://home.att.net/~dannysoar/home.htm

Derek Buckmaster ff site (includes links to the FreeFlight web ring);
http://mywebpage.netscape.com/dbdesignbureau/

Ben Buckle kits and plans;

Modellers Supplies - UK vendor of goodies;
http://www.modellers-supplies.co.uk/index.html

Ivy & Martins Web page - hundreds of links to aeromodelling sites around the globe;
http://www.ivyandmartin.demon.co.uk/page2.htm

Sams Models - everthing!;

Anybody else?

I am not sure if this site has been mentioned but, I have found it helpful when researching old timers. It is basically a database of old timers and antiques!

Got a Vintage plan You just can't seem to Find?

Try Allen Hunt's site in W.Va..... He's a very friendly fellow, and if he doesn't have it, he'll help you find it! He will also trade with you, and all his plans are very reasonable. Whether it's rubber/gas powered free flight, control line, Gliders, 3-views, or old-time R/C chances are he has it! Bob

"AAL/mps is a source for competition and sport flying Free Flight and RC model airplane plans and kits. Power types are rubber, CO2, electric and gas. The plans are original efforts, and the prints are crisp and clear to make things easy for builders to follow."

Kenny's Old Time Model Airplane Magazine

Kenny's Old Time Model Airplane Magazine Hat's off to Kenny. His Web site design is really cool and I envy him for what he's done. I think I'll copy my Maircraft Black Widow sold scale plans from my virgin kit. He has a section on those gems as well as flying models. Enjoy. And, thanks a million Kenny!

Bob Holman Old Timer short kits

I haven't noticed anyone mentioning Bob Holman's great line of Old Timer models. His are all laser cut and many have CAD drawn plans by Jim O'Reilly. He offers plans or short kits and can scale them to any size in most of the offerings. I have built a number of the kits and find them very well done. He also makes them with quite good balsa.
Most are done as Gas or rubber models as the original but modifying to electric is not a great task.

His web site is:

Although Belair carry advertise a lot of general RC items, they do have a section devoted to vintage style kits in the UK;

..And the mixture of types and era on www.myunclewillies.com is worth a look. Mostly re-drawn to professional standard from original sources. Includes vintage , waterplanes, scale, giant etc . An entertaining site based in Florida USA. Mail order worldwide. Anybody mention the X-list plans from UK ? Withdrawn plans from Aeromodeller Magazine and others. www.xlistplans.demon.co.uk
