gliding/climbing time ratio

It will be very interesting to know this ratio, sure without thermal. We can than compare how good are our ornis. Can somebody give values? The more gliding for the same climbing the better.

Thank you Willi. Can you give me times for climbing and gliding?

hello Willi,
today i maked first simple mesurement. For 30sec climbing my bird maked total time 70-80sec by full accu 2x E-Tec 1200. After about 6min accu will be tired and it climbes not so good. I need 12A for full power. Probably it is too much for these accu, but i have no better ones. Gliding ratio i can only guess for moment. about 6:1. EPP wing will be better than my styro, it brakes easily.
Regards Karel

Willi,
i can not use 3x E-Tec but i use new ones, HP types. My total flying time is about 14 min. My bird soared very good, i use every thermal wind. Karel

Yes Willi, it is. It glides probably better then 6:1 because it is wing with normal profil. I mean only that EPP will be better than styro, but styro works also. Now i fly with normal tail, see

Willi,
CG is 45% of chord in midde of wing. My locking system is very sophisticated, with PIC-processor and 3 hallsensors and almost the same locking mechanics as PH. But it works also not 100%. I think one must catch the wing i.e. supplementary stop with block & servo. Karel
