Please look at all of the pictures on this blog. Just a few pictures of my build. There has been a lot of work going on. I do not work on it all the time. But it's coming out great. There are more pic coming soon. But I would like to see what people think.

I enjoy watching the fpv videos ya'll post from the jeeps. Kinda cool how ya'll come up with the neat ideals on motors, hands on the steering wheel, lighted functional gauges, etc...

Yes a lot of the Tonka Summits do this. Me I just enjoy the build and try to take it to the next level.

They are the rok lox 40 series. I had to put a 18mm extender to widen them out so they do not hit.

But I would like to see what people think. Images View all Images in thread Views: 83 As you can see the body was lengthened to help hide all the electronics on the summit chassis. Views: 95 The two halfs of the two bodies weldeed and bead blasted. Views: 79 A look at the inside of the body work. Views: 78 This is before the lower skirt was added. Views: 126 Just a test fit of the body here. The motor is in as well. But what I'm really looking at here is how I want the roll cage to look. So I used coat hanger to mock it up. Views: 117 This is the small plate that was put in for the motor to mount too. Views: 101 I just got the model motor and want to see if it was a good fit. It was even better the I thought it would be. Views: 100 Motor is going to look great at this height. Views: 67 Make sure I'm going to be able to put in a fire wall plus looking at the overall clearance. Views: 67 The body mounts just got put in and line up great. Views: 62 I want to use the stock body mounts. I cut them up and pushed them all the way down. I want to keep the body as low as possible Views: 70 I made a bumper riser and extender. The body mounts remained in this position. Views: 64 All my mounting brackets are done in this picture. The body mounts, dash mounts, seat mounts and body supports are in. Views: 70 Another test fit here. As you can see I cut the motor plate to allow for a small electronic motor in side the model motor. I making the model motor a running motor. Views: 56 Another test fit. Going to need bigger tires. Maybe the ROK LOX 40 series?????? Views: 61 Well I only put a servo behind the dash. But after seeing some other post I'm going to rework is this dash. I hope people don't mind that I use there ideas. Views: 59 Again this is going to be reworked. I guess you can say this is a before picture. The after rework picture is coming. Views: 79 OK the doll now looks like Frankenstein. But the arm movements are super smooth. Views: 66 As you can see the shifting works great. Views: 73 Checking to see if the arms are at the right length. Views: 70 Thus is how I got the shitter to work. Views: 76 Again a fit check going on. Views: 67 Made this raidiator so that the wind would turn the fan. Then I made a trip to the booby store and found these double fans. Much better look. Views: 66 Another view of the motor and fan fit check. Views: 70 This is the start. I welded the front half and back half of two Tonka body's together. Now the finder wells line up like they should. What am I getting myself into? Views: 86 My gopro pan and tilt. Its mounted to heigh I'm going to have cut the seat back down. The goprocase gas been drilled out to hold two 1/8 ID flange bearings. The mount for the case is made out of aluminium. The pan system is from Servo city. Views: 65 I removed the round lights from the stock push bar and put them as headlights. I replased the with a 1" Vanquish ridgid series light bar. Views: 63 OK guys and any gals out there. Seat has been cut down to lower the gopro. Plus the cage is taking form Views: 67 Drivers side of the cage and gopro. Views: 63 Im liking the looks of this. It been a long process to get here. Views: 67 The 6" Vanquish light bar ha been added to the top of the cage. Views: 72 More cage work being done. B piller is in and x member are going in. Views: 63 The cage is made from 5/16 steel brake line. Very easy to bend and you can silver solder it together. Views: 77 So I have desided to go with Dragon link to get this toy a ways away from me. Problem!!!! Antenna must remain 180 degrees from each other. So I desided to hide it in a kayak. Well guess I better build a rack now. Views: 71 Roof rack done. OK doesn't look to bad.... Views: 69 Kayak is done being built and the Dragon link antenna is hidden. Views: 66 Cage and roof rack are done! Views: 66 Another look at the cage and roof rack. Views: 59 The back of the cage and rack. I had to put in a support for the kayak. Views: 65 Drivers side of the cage. Views: 56 Back rack with gas can, water can, generator, jack and accessory box. Views: 54 Mounted the 3" Vanquish led light bar. Ridged series. Views: 61 A better look at the rear rack. Views: 56 Painted the cage black and added rear back up lights. The lights are by Vanquish the ridged series. Views: 42 Front view of the cage. It's all done. Views: 53 Dash is ready for lights and gauges Views: 54 The wires under the dash Views: 48 Hard to see but the dash gauges are in. Views: 57 Gauges lit up. Views: 52 Ridged lights are working. Views: 61 The speaker for the horn is mounted in the fire wall. Views: 62 Motor is done and mounted Views: 57 Engine compartment is done. Views: 60 Firewall is in and nos bottle mounted Views: 58 Seat is painted. Views: 44 Three servos three micro switches mounted. Views: 41 Back up lights and back rack mounted. Views: 53 Made a compartment in the back that gets covered. Views: 49 Under the seat. Wow a lot going on. Views: 32 This is the motor sound module cut to fit. The horn module got mounted on the passenger side panel. The horn speaker is mounted in the fire wall. You can all so see the reverse light servo mounted in the back. Views: 49 I mounted the motor sound speaker inside the motor. I cut out the bottom of the pan to let the sound out. Views: 46 The batteries fit. Views: 55 The VT fits. It's almost as if it was planned. Or was it? Views: 55 Got my co driver today. She was so excited that she had me take her picture in front of her new ride. Views: 36 Front end at night Views: 41 I might just be able to drive at night... Views: 32 A look at the under side with all the wires. Views: 40 A little more accessories added. Views: 24 This shows the cover that hides all the batteries and vtx. Views: 29 Relocated the on and off switch. Views: 30 I mounted the Dragonlink and two five way splitters. Views: 29 Views: 32 Wires are done on the top side. Cage is on for good. Views: 30 I'm this much closer to being done.
