Nobody ever died wishing they spent more time at work!

My wife talked me into it. Gotta Love that woman!
It has 120v ac to charge batteries, too.

It has a toilet, too. Important if you're an old fart!

It also hauls LOTS of a$$

If I ever learn to fly properly, I want to do floats.

There is very little discussion going on now about what makes this or any car particularly good for hauling models, much of the discussion is just about cars in general. On that basis I'm moving the thread over to the Off Topic section.

Yep, got me one of them Elements. Mines is the 4WD. I bought this when they first came out a little over 1 year ago. I already have 35,000 miles on it

I'm 6'4" and have tons of room. When I put the seats up, I can stretch out in the back. I've taken this thing all over the mountains and across many mountain jeep trails. Never got stuck. Works really good as a plane hauler as well.

When it snowes, I use it as a snowmobille, very good traction in the white stuff. It'll plow right though 2 ft or more drifts.

Great for camping as well.

BTW, here's a picture I just took.

Have yet to see a Scion around these parts... Seen quite a few Elements.

BTW, here's my plane hauler... No, running water, A/C, or potty , but I can fit all the goodies for a day's flying, and when I get home, I just un-hitch, and I'm done.

Bill,

I just bought one myself, same color and wheels! I too was impressed with the room inside(I'm 6' 4") and I don't really care what people think, especially those around RyanPSU21's age. Just don't add a Turbofart 9000 muffler to it like the kids do to their's!

If you don't care what people think why are you boasting about buying one? There are many marketing studies out there that show that people care a lot about a car and the image it projects even if they don't think they do or like to admit it.

He asked for people's opinion of it and I gave it. I happen to be part of the demographic that Toyato designed the Scion around. My impression of the design is what the %#Q@% are they thinking.

I think exhaust resonators are really stupid. If you wanted a car to sound like it has a large displacement engine you should have bought one even though any car sounds like it does because it was designed to, not because it naturally did without any exhaust work.

Spinning rims are even more stupid looking then exhaust resonators sound.

Loud stereos with really loud base are even worse.

Someone please post a picture of a Chevy Astro next to the Scion you guys are talking about and please explain why one is a car and one is a mini van.

You should rent out the sides for billboards.

Half-priced because of the size, of course.

Sorry, much too ugly for me. I have more self-respect than that. A corollary to my "I don't fly no ugly planes" motto is "I don't drive no ugly cars". Life's too short to allow it.

But would you rather fly an ugly plane if it flew GREAT or fly a looker if it was a pig in the air?

Fortunately, in most cases looks and performance aren't mutually exclusive characteristics. Both can, and often do, coexist in a model. I choose my model subjects and my vehicles based on a combination of those characteristics.

I don't have to settle for looks OR performance. I can have both.

Like my Corvette, for example.

Well,

As they say, beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and the bottom line is, whatever makes you happy. Unfortunately, there's always a trade-off. And in your case Rick, you get looks AND performance, but settle for so-so gas mileage and no space for airplanes. I'll guess I'll just have to haul my planes around in my ugly little car, and smile as I pass the gas stations and repair shops

I do like 'Vettes, though! (the 1963 split-window coupe is my favorite)
