Avro Mk IV Triplane Motor suggestion

Hi!

I have just bought a R/N models Avro Mk IV triplane kit that I intend to convert to RC. The kit is a FF-kit originally for a Cox .020 or a "Hytork 48" electric. Prop size has to be around max 5" for not hooking into the rigging.

Has anyone made this conversion and can give me some hints or has anyone a motor suggestion for me?

Thanks in advance and best regards,
Patrik Delin

If you're certain that it can only swing a 5" prop then four choices come to mind- - HY-50F - good up to maybe 5 ounces or so, (lightest option)-
HY-50B swinging a Tern 6" prop (if it'll fit- good up to 6.5 ounces

Speed 280 direct drive- maybe your best bet- I've flown several planes that originally called for 020s on this motor swinging a 5" prop, but it's not an ideal setup- max around 8 ounces
Astro 010 brushless direct drive- a bit heavier, but more power than the 280.- Max- maybe 14 oz but I'll bet your airframe gets too heavy. Really, you want to swing closer to a 7" prop- even a 6" prop would help- that will improve your flight performance dramatically.
