Okay, okay, I'm getting a shocky

I'm getting a shockflyer soon and I know this is the 10000th thread about setups, but I would like to know a fool proof brushless setup for this plane. I need something that will hover, rocket out and pull the planearound for at least 10 minutes without fading. Could you list your batteries servos/rx and esc.
I'm so tired of bad setups.
Sean

Extrema 330s, Nippy Black 0808, GWS 8x4.3 prop, Phoenix10, E-Tec 3x700mah Cell, 3xGWS Pico servos, and Pico RX. This set up will give you 200g all up weight, and will meet all of your requirements. You can hover at mid stick all the time.

my recommendation for easy of buying and reliability is just to use what hobby lobby recommends. simple as that. personally I've run the motor they recommend with a c.c. pheonix 10 and a razor 300 on the stock gearbox ( well optional stock one). both are great. razor is very very very ( too) powerful. axi is so nice and silent.

I have the 540 edge, but understand they all pretty much fly similar. 2208/34 AXi, APC 10x4.7, GWS 4ch receiver, 3ea HS50, Phoenix 10 ESC and 2S1P Tanic 850 for the type of flight you want. The 340 kokam works, but does not give the same vertical performance you want. A 3 cell lipolly would give even more perfromance, but is probably overkill really. I would be afraid to climb much faster than the 2S tanics climb.

Good luck and let us know how it goes!

Steve (sitting and hoping the rain will stop so I can fly mine tomorrow)

I set mine up according to the hobby lobby suggestions. 2208/34 w/ jetti (or p10) and run the etech 700's 2s . Have a 3s 700 pack but it doesnt need it. Made my own motor mount (aluminum) instead of that heavy metal they give you in the axi mounting kit. The way it's made you do not need to use the liteply in the hobby lobby brushless conversion faq.

Yah, I'm looking for insane power. Kinda like in the chipsledde video. But I don't want a heavy setup. I will also be flying this plane out doors because I have yet to find a good gym or place I could fly.
Thanks alot,
Sean Ellis

I finally ordered my shocky. Now I have to scrape together some money for the motor and lipos and esc.

I have my lipos lined up, I'm getting a 2 cell 830 apogee pack, and the axi 2208 34 when I get the money.

You should be happy with that setup.

Keep us informed on how the build and flying goes!

TeamSME:
I'm exploring the posibility of using a GWS IPS-Dual Brushed Motor, it's fairly light & should give plenty of thrust. Plus, I have an abundance of Brushed controllers & 2S Etec 1200-2S packs. I may give it a go in my Edge Shockie that is nearing completion. If I pick up a Dual, I will post the results here on Ezone.
