Need 3 view drawing for Tomahawk missle.
Hi guys,
A friend of mine would like to do a sp400 pusher version of the Tomahawk,do any of you guys have the 3 view drawing for it?Any help is greatly appreciated. Best regards Tom |

Unfortenately I can't help you with a decent 3 view drawing for the Tomahawk, but I doubt if it would be possible to design a well flying model of this missile.
The main problem is the wingspan (and thus wing-area) of this model. To generate enough lift you would have to fly very...very fast. Some info on the Tomahawk: http://www.fas.org/man/dod-101/sys/smart/bgm-109.htm |

The Tomahawk actually has a variant that can dispurse submunitions on little parachutes for missions such as runway cratering. Fedex could do mass deliveries of packages that are a little less lethal.
We used to have great luck with profile balsa gliders of the Tomahawk, and the engine is located in the very back, just where it should be for an EDF, so it should make a good model. Control of the full scale Tomahawk is with a rudder and elevons, which could be easily done with a mixer and the long nose should help with balancing out the CG. You may need to use a bungee for launch -- or if you are really ambitious, fold the wings and use a launch tube and booster "F" series rocket motor. With no control surfaces on the wings, they could be folded in a model, but that adds design complication, not to mention weight. If you do fold the wings, you better manually release them with another servo, because they shouldn't be opened until the bird has slowed a little and is in a less vertical attitude. Pete G. |

I have one of these at home, I think form memory i was mucking around with Autocad with it... so I *may* have a half done/muckaround DXF file somewhere if your interested...
