Micro speedwing build

Well I hassled acer enough to make him sell me a micro a bit early, so I thought I'd show you how it goes together.

Here it all is, you will notice that the motor mount is a bit different to normal, acer sent me a dxf and I cut it out on a waterjet cutter (after modding it a bit)

Here is a closeup of the mount, not too sure about it yet, I don't have a battery yet so I might wait for it, then change the mount to suit the battery cutout

War bird,
Yep Aluminum, or Aluminium for us aussies, I really like it for the keel, I use it on a mega power wing, easily strong enough and weighs next to nothing

The keel for the micro weighs about 7-8g

Now that we've got the CNC mill up to speed(wing) sort of, I should mill out a micro motor mount and see how it would work. What gauge and type aluminium are you using? BTW, I use to do a lot of work for a fabricator in S. Florida. His chief estimator was from England. I think they must use aluminium over in England as well Always wondered if it were stronger or lighter or what over our aluminum here in the states
