That elusive thermal...
When I really started model flying in 1982 or there about it was the Robbe Geier electric "glider" that convinced me to take up RC flying again ...
Not the best model for thermalling probably, but at that time I did not really know much about thermals. I had seen Dave Thornburg getting away with his Sunbird
(:see http://www.isthmusmodels.com/sunbird/picture.html )
at the 1978 F3B World championships in Amay, Belgium, but never really encountered a thermal "in person... I do think this further helped my "love" for thermalling
and now, about 32 years later, I'm going for another flying wing, Ken Bates' Windlord, electric version of course

Cool bit of history there wimh
I like the windlord. Reminds me of the raven and black bird planks.
We built some black birds for light slope... Really fun plank. You will fin some video' sunder 2m blackbird on YouTube.
Also check out my gizmo 36 and monster gizmo 2m threads in the slope section.
All the best.
