If they fly as nicely as they look, you have three winners! Nice! Thanks; Ernie P.

We've found a new flying site that's at a large volcanic escarpment with about a 600 foot slope. I took my old Flik (http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showp...&postcount=327) out there and was planning on flying it one last time before disassembling it and scavenging the electronics for something else. I was going to throw the carcass in the trash. Trouble was, the plane flew phenomenally! When I got home, I opened it up, took out the old, tired battery pack and soldered up a new, bigger one. New trim flights yesterday with the changed CG. I also decided I need to make a Flik out of 2mm coro for those "lighter flow days". What a great plane for something so simple!

Thanks Bex. Yes its so much more satisfying to see one of your own designs fly. Even beter if they fly well. How long have you been in the building spads game?

Here are some of my SPADS. The pusher/puller uses two .29 Magnum engines. Loved that plane so much I eventually wore out both engines. The Canard is doing a knife edge.

New Spad Stick

Here's my new electric Stick. Has a 32" span powered by a Himax 2816-1220 with a 9-6 prop. It will accelerate straight up. I used a coat hanger braced with wire for the landing gear.

Those twins are a lot of fun when one of the engines quit!

Hi earlwb and balsabuster2004
Nice looking planes. I too had a SPAD traditional twin. I found that waiting for an engine to quit was making me a nervous wreak. I was not having fun flying. That is the reason I changed my twin to a pusher/puller, as shown in one of my photos above. When an engine quits, nothing nasty happens. Mine had two .29 Magnum engines but was a 40 size planes. Some of my best fun was trying to make a take off on one engine. I learned to measure altitude in inches when I was taking off on one engine, because sometimes I only had about 6 inches of altitude when I was forced to make a turn due to running out of runway.
